Tryin’ times is what the world keeps talkin’ about
We got confusion all over the land
We got mother against daughter, we got father against son
You know the whole thing is just gettin’ out of hand
But folks wouldn’t have to suffer
If there was more love for your brother
But these are tryin’ times yeah
We got the riots and the ghettos and it’s all around
We got a whole lot of things that’s wrong and it’s goin’ down.
I don’t understand it, my point of view
I remember somebody said do unto others
As you would have them do unto you
Then folks wouldn’t have to suffer, if there was more love
In these tryin’ times
People always talk about man’s inhumanity to man
But what you tryin’ to do to make this a better land?
Just pick up your paper, turn on your tv
You’ll see a lot of demonstrations for equality
Then folks wouldn’t have to suffer
If there was more love in these tryin’ times
Oh yeah, in these tryin’ times
