Walking with my baby, sometimes we walk slow
Sometimes we go fast to where we don’t know
Sometimes we take it easy, sometimes we take it hard
It depends on where we are

Sometimes I run ahead and sometimes I fall behind
Sometimes I linger for a very long time
Often I stumble and my knees shake
Not sure of the distance I can make

But the point of it all is that we keep on
No matter what’s coming, no matter what’s gone
We just keep on keepin’ on

Sometimes it’s so scary, sometimes it’s so dark
Other times, man, it’s just like a walk in the park
Sometimes I’m pretty sure, sometimes I don’t know
Which way this all will go

Sometimes it’s all uphill, sometimes it’s down
Sometimes the cycle spins around and around and around and around
Sometimes I give and sometimes I take
And sometimes it’s too late

But the point of it all is that we keep on
No matter what’s coming, no matter what’s gone
We just keep on keepin’ on

If we should lose our way, if our paths should part
If you let go of my hand, if you lose track of my heart
If I find myself walking alone and you’re gone
